Printing and personalization of cards

Usually smart cards are made of white PVC, PET, ABS. However, white cards, without overprints do not pay the significant marketing and information role. The additional problem is to differentiate particular cards. That is why the cards undergo printing and personalization.

Printing of cards (offset and thermo transfer methods).

Printing of the same graphic layout, including any logo, picture or text on cards is already possible in the production process by means of offset method. An offset overprint is very esthetic and durable, however, for technological reasons it is more beneficial to apply offset printing for a portion of at least 1000 cards.

If it is necessary to print less than 1000 cards with the same graphic layout, such a print may be made by means of thermo transfer method (monochrome or color print).

Personalization of cards.

Cards from a given portion, printed by means of offset method or thermo transfer method, have the same graphic layout. These cards may be used by individual users after personalization process, i.e. the cards are given the features which enable their graphical (graphical personalization) or automatic (electronic system personalization) differentiation.

Usually, smart cards require both kinds of personalization.
