GEMALTO  - was formed on the 2nd of June 2006  as a result of merger between GEMPLUS and AXALTO. GEMALTO is unquestioned leader in smart card technology and digital security, with combined pro-forma of 2005 revenues of €1.7 billion, and with market capitalization as of 07.12.2005 of €2.3 billion, it employs 11 000 employees. GEMALTO has 21 production sites, 32 personalization centers, 9 R&D centers. Combined R&D expenses of both companies in 2005 reached €114 million. GEMALTO offers all necessary elements to create any system based on smart cards.
